January’s Art Exhibit presents artwork by Kathy Agostinelli, opening January 3rd through the 30th

An exhibition of original paintings and mixed media by local artist Kathy Agostinelli will be on display from January 3rd through January 30th 2019 at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue, Swarthmore. The public is invited to the artist’s opening reception on Friday January 4th, from 6 to 8 pm. Both the exhibit and the opening are free, kid friendly and open to the public.

The exhibit presents artwork by Ms. Agostinelli, primarily oil on canvas. When she is working on smaller pieces or doing a rough preliminary pochade will also include gouache. “I was exploring spirituality and found myself painting a lot of birds as well as other animals. I’ve recently turned to trees, as I see them as portraits. I also like the landscape. I will never be able to settle for one genre, because I love them all.”

Kathy Agostinelli holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She has also attended classes at Fleisher Art Memorial, Rosemont College and has an Associates in Graphic Design from Delaware County Community College. Kathy exhibits locally in Delaware County Pennsylvania and has worked as a faux finisher and muralist.

Exhibit hours are Monday to Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, Friday 10 am to 7 pm, Saturday 10 am to 3 pm, Sunday 1 to 5 pm.

The exhibit is sponsored by Swarthmore Friends of the Arts. For information about Swarthmore Friends of the Arts, visit www.swarthmorearts.org or contact Exhibit Chair Martha Perkins, martha.perkins@gmail.com.
