First Friday Event Alert – Photographers’ reception this Friday, October 7, 6-8pm! 

The annual Celebrate Local Photography Exhibit, now open at Borough Hall, features a variety of local professional and buddy photographers. The opening reception is this Friday, October 7th, 6-8 pm as part of Swarthmore’s First Friday Art Events.

The opening reception is free and open to the public. Come meet the artists while enjoying complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

The exhibit will be on display from October 4th through the end of October at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue, Swarthmore. Most of the photographs will be for sale, available for purchase through Swarthmore Friends of the Arts. The holidays are right around the corner!

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Exhibit hours are M-Th 9am – 8pm, Fri 10am – 7pm, Sat 10am – 3pm, Sun 1 – 5pm.

Swarthmore Friends of the Arts is the volunteer organization responsible for the rotating art exhibits at the Borough Hall in Swarthmore. Last Call for Entries for the October 2022 Photographers Group Exhibition

Photographers 18 years of age or older, who reside in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District (including Swarthmore College students), are invited to participate in the Annual Swarthmore Artists Exhibition to be held at Swarthmore Borough Hall the month of October. 

Completed entry forms are due by Sunday, October 2.

The delivery for the work to be exhibited is Monday, October 3, from 5-6 PM at Borough Hall in Swarthmore.

One or two pieces of original photography, which have not previously been exhibited at Borough Hall, may be submitted. Reproductions of original artwork will not be accepted. Work intended for hanging must be framed or matted and wired for hanging. Work that is not designed to hang on a wall will be included in the exhibit only if it can be safely displayed within the available exhibit space.

A contribution of $5 (cash or check made out to Swarthmore Friends of the Arts) per piece is requested toward exhibition costs including the artists’ reception.  Please bring the fee (check or cash) with you when you deliver your artwork for the show.  Questions about the suitability of a particular work for the exhibit, or to arrange for delivery of artwork at a time other than specified above, should be directed to Martha Perkins, martha.perkins@gmail.com.

21st Celebrate Swarthmore Photographers Exhibit

21st Celebrate Swarthmore Photographers Exhibit

The October 2017 Celebrate Swarthmore Photographers Exhibit is fast approaching. The show will be held at Swarthmore Borough Hall for the month of October. The public is invited to the artists’ reception on Friday October 6 from 6 to 8 pm, which is free, child friendly, and open to the public. There will be wine and cheese along with live music by Jessica Graae.

An exhibition of original photography by area photographers from Swarthmore, Rutledge, Wallingford, Nether Providence, and Rose Valley will be on display from October 4 through October 31, 2017, at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue, Swarthmore.  The exhibit is free and open to the public during the Hall’s hours of operation.

August Event Alert! A Few Steps – “Are We There Yet?” – Photography Exhibit – August 3 – 28.

MOBILE WITHOUT THE AUTO – HOW DO WE GET THERE?

 

An exhibition of original photography by area photographers from Swarthmore, Rutledge, Wallingford, Nether Providence, and Rose Valley will be on display from August 3 through August 29, 2017 at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue, Swarthmore.  The public is invited to view the photography, which is free and open to the public during the Hall’s hours of operation.

The “Are We There Yet?” exhibit is aFewSteps.org sponsored photo contest presented by the Swarthmore Friends of the Arts in the Swarthmore Borough Hall venue.  The show reflects a wide variety of perspectives and subject matter to share and celebrate all the ways we get from Point A to Point B – without taking the car.  Exhibitors include local photographers, both amateur and professional, that took to the streets to photograph various ways we arrive at our destination.
