February’s Art Exhibit will feature Paintings By Colleen McCarthy

February’s art exhibit features the colorful and detailed art by artist Colleen McCarthy. The exhibit “Biological Alchemy”, will be on display through February at Swarthmore Borough Hall. The opening reception is Friday, February 2, 6-8 pm. The event is free and open to the public. On your stroll through town stop by Borough Hall, meet the artist, and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

Colleen McCarthy is an artist, photographer, and art educator living and working in Delaware County, PA. Colleen graduated from the University of the Arts with a BFA in Photography with a concentration in Art Education. In 2008, She completed a Master’s in Liberal Studies from Widener University and Most Recently received A Master’s in Art in Art Education from Art of Education University. Colleen primarily works in hand-altered and alternative process photography, with the scanner and computer being essential tools. Colleen draws inspiration from various things, such as vintage photographs, found objects, nature, childhood memories, toys, and family.
