New Art Exhibit Coming in July! SFoA presents artwork by Georgianna Grentzenberg.

“Multiple Art Personalities”

An exhibition of original paintings and mixed media by local artist Georgianna Grentzenberg will be on display from July 3rd through July 29th, 2019, at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue, Swarthmore. The public is invited to the artist’s opening reception on Friday, July 5th, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Both the exhibit and the opening are free, kid-friendly and open to the public.

Ms. Grentzenberg has been appreciating and creating art since adolescence, exploring collage and assemblage techniques alongside formal drawing and painting lessons. She attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and worked as as an archaeological illustrator for Philadelphia museums.

The detail in Ms. Grentzenberg’s art pulls the viewer into a created world, at times surreal, whimsical, and finally colorful. Her latest works have returned to mixed media, combining found materials and working in abstract designs.

Her upcoming exhibition combines both styles, “I find joy and challenge in contrasting ways of thinking about creativity, materials, and process. Each piece I create becomes a meditation, a conversation with myself about lines, color variations, and internal coherence in both styles. I’m interested to see where these divergent explorations will take me.”

To follow Ms. Grentzenberg, go to “G. Grentzenberg, Artist” on Facebook.

Exhibit hours are Monday to Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, Friday 10 am to 7 pm, Saturday 10 am to 3 pm, Sunday 1 to 5 pm.

The exhibit is sponsored by Swarthmore Friends of the Arts. For information about Swarthmore Friends of the Arts, visit www.swarthmorearts.org or contact Exhibit Chair Martha Perkins, martha.perkins@gmail.com.
