First Call for Entries

Artists 18 years of age or older, who reside in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District (including Swarthmore College students), are invited to participate in the 23rd Annual Swarthmore Artists Exhibition to be held at Swarthmore Borough Hall the month of June.  Completed entry forms are due by Monday, May 27. The delivery date for work to be exhibited is Monday, June 3 from 6-7 PM.

One or two pieces of original work, in any medium except for photography which have not previously been exhibited at Borough Hall, may be submitted.  Reproductions of original artwork will not be accepted.  Work intended for hanging must be framed or matted and wired for hanging.  Work that is not designed to hang on a wall will be included in the exhibit only if it can be safely displayed within the available exhibit space.

A contribution of $5 (cash or check made out to Swarthmore Friends of the Arts) per piece is requested toward exhibition costs including the artists’ reception.  Please bring fee with you when you deliver your artwork for the show.  Questions about the suitability of a particular work for the exhibit, or to arrange for delivery of artwork at a time other than specified above, should be directed to Martha Perkins, martha.perkins@gmail.com.

The entry form is available at www.swarthmorearts.org. Please submit via the website form as we are going paperless for the environment.

Please contact Martha Perkins, 484-574-3158, martha.perkins@gmail.com with any questions.  For requests made by voice or e-mail, leave your email address and/or phone number.

The Artists’ Reception will be Friday, June 7 from 6 to 8 PM and is free and open to the public.  Sales of any works exhibited in the show will be arranged by Friends of the Arts, which receives a commission of 10% on the sale of any artwork resulting from the exhibit.

Swarthmore Friends of the Arts is the volunteer organization responsible for the rotating art exhibits at the Borough Hall in Swarthmore.  Their mission is to encourage the free expression of all forms of art by local artists and to arrange for the exhibition of the work of artists for the enrichment and enlightenment of the community.
